Hydrology, storm sewers and storm inlets are taken care of with one of the leading design programs: InletMaster. InletMaster is a hydrology and hydraulic program that analyzes and helps design the performance of storm sewer inlets and roadway drainage. It allows the analysis of a complete network of inlets, and works in both English and Metric units. Unlike programs from other major vendors, this program calculates the INLET DESIGN.
It is an excellent design tool, but it relies on the engineer to interpret the results. It assists the engineer with many comments, help buttons, and messages about the answers to provide the necessary feedback. It makes life SO MUCH EASIER!
The methodology used follows as closely as possible those found in the HEC-22 manual published by the Federal Highway Administration, Nov. 1996.
It was designed and written by a Civil Engineer with many years of experience in storm drain design, And it was written for engineers, with the understanding that we are responsible for our design, and we are all "control freaks" at heart. The built in features provide that control.

English/Metric Units – The program is capable of working in either English or Metric units. It does not do so by converting input and output, it uses dual sets of formulas where necessary – just as the HEC 22 manual recommends.
- Roll, vertical, and wedge type curbs are all calculated. The curb sections included are not the oversimplified vertical curb sections found in the government manuals. They allow for a depressed curb section and for a batter on the face of vertical curb.
